Rifugio Torino

Visit to the Torino hut above Courmayeur today at 3375 meters elevation. 1st of July and still a LOT of snow on the mountain. Quite impressive! Views are always impressive from this point - so long as the weather permits. Today was beautiful - contrary to a spot of passing fog in this picture looking back down to the lower station and the STEEP covered stairway (228 steps). The views of Mont Blanc and Dent du Geant were both very striking and imposing, but I prefer this one showing the strangeness of the man made formation in such a hostile and pristine place on top of the ridge.
