Any (Birding)Questions

We've been busy most of the day attending the  Hampshire Ornithological Society (HOS)'s annual Members' Day. As always, a cracking event, with a mixture of recent research on bird behaviours, more general nature reports, and an interesting exhibition representing  local wildlife groups and commercial  organisations. Today, we were fortunate  to have Chris Packham, HOS President  present all day, plus Chair Keith Betton. Talks were given on work studying Redshanks, Redstarts in the New Forest, birdlife at Lymington Marshes and Keyhaven by Peter Durnell HCC Reserves Officer , plus Debbie Tann CEO of Hampshire Wildlife  Trust talking about the State of Nature in Hampshire. 
The blip shows the Q and A at the end of the day when the panel answered questions submitted earlier by HOS members. The panel included Keith Betton at lectern, Chris Packham second from left at the table, Guy Michelmore centre, Peter Durnell second from right, and Debbie Tann far right. All in all, a very informative, professional and thought provoking day. The  main message was climate change is serious and we urgently  need to ensure at least 1 in4 people is engaged, to create a tipping point. There is a general election coming up - we must  tell the  candidates  we need them to take urgent steps to halt global warming  to protect the natural   environment and its wildlife.
