Hardwick Hall
A day out meeting up with friends. First stop was Hardwick Hall near Chesterfield. Very cold and windy so we had several visits to the cafe to warm up. The house and its history were very interesting. Almost every wall inside was covered by a tapestry (extra 1). Next door is Hardwick Old Hall (extra 2) which was also the home of Bess of Hardwick. It's now a ruin so is maintained by English Heritage. Most of the current residents are bats. After saying goodbye to our local friends we headed over to Scunthorpe to meet up with other friends who are also over here from NZ.
