Lake Grassmere is NZ's producer of salt. 
And this was the only bit of land we saw flying from Queenstown today. I must say we were delighted when the plane actually landed at Queenstown as at one time we could hardly see the runway. 21 in Welli and a light breeze.and just heading out for a short walk to stay awake from what was a very early start as the Boss's head didn't believe in alarms so he kept waking up to check the time....Sigh.....
