Dolly's Day

A SIGN

It didn't rain today but it was dull, chilly and windy so I decided to head for the Metrocentre.

First stop was the Post Office to post a parcel.  Next I went into M & S.  Bought some mackerel and satsumas - looked at the clothes but there was nothing I really fancied.  Next stop was Primark.  Tried on a couple of things - but didn't get them.  I did get some face cream though.  Next to Poundland for food shopping.

As I wandered around the Metrocentre I was on the lookout for a suitable sign as the Wide Wednesday challenge theme is " sign ". Thanks to ApolloFly and  Nicoiseannie for hosting.

The sign I have blipped shows that work is underway building a new £17.4m NHS facility which is set to offer thousands of vital scans and tests at the Metrocentre. The centre is being built in the old House of Fraser store. When it opens this autumn the new community diagnostic centre (CDC) will offer 145,000 appointments a year. The idea is that vital services like MRI scans and heart health investigations will be able to take place away from acute hospital settings.  The centre will host a vast range of scanners and testing areas - including two MRI scanners and two CT scanners. Hopefully it will mean patients will be seen sooner and will not have so far to travel for appointments.

There were travel problems in the local area this afternoon due to a lorry shedding its load on the A1 meaning long tailbacks on that road - and also slow moving traffic on the roads leading off it and the surrounding area.  My bus home from the Metrocentre was late arriving and then it just crawled along for ages in a long line of traffic.

Steps today - 7,523
