MOURNING DOVE

This MOURNING DOVE has been roosting on this beam just above my back door.  Its mate is nearby, probably plotting how to sneak into my house.
They are not the least bit afraid of me & are very amusing to watch.
A nest they built last Spring is nearby, but they are not interested in
it.  Also, they show no sign of building a new & better one.

Maybe they are just hiding from the RED TAILED HAWKS who
are nesting in the tall Pine trees behind my house.

It's a mystery.
