“We Are A Gentle Loving People”…

Tonight our souls were rejuvenated listening to longtime feminist , activist, actor, lesbian, singer - songwriter Holly Near. Our first time to the intimate and lovely Alberta Rose Theater in Portland -a perfect venue for this concert.
We had Heard Holly back in the late seventies and eighties etc and so tonight was so special to hear her again. Holly founded Redwood Records in 1972 to “promote music by “politically conscious artists from around the world . “ I think of Holly Near and connect her to women’s music, anti-war songs and union songs .
