ready voor de vlootdag 13 april

Fleet Day is the festive opening of the sailing season of the Brown Fleet in Harlingen.

The corps ship De Sittard is a former minesweeper(of wood and aluminium) and was built in the 1950s with the support of the American government, as part of the Marshall Plan. Until 1997, De Sittard served as a minesweeper in the Royal Navy and was then transferred to the Sea Cadet Corps Harlingen.

Navy people often called these boats a "wooden clog" which was often seen as a nickname(ned. woord geuzennaam) by those on board.
