"Those were the days my friends..."

Artist Roy Petrie, and former colleague on The Herald arrived today for lunch with a print of his work, a gift for our recent Golden Wedding.
Since leaving The Herald ,where he worked as a graphic artist, Roy has travelled extensively in China and Tibet (he will have an exhibition later in the year of his work).  He was in Wuhan when Covid started.
We were joined for lunch by another former colleague, Arts Editor John Fowler ( see extra) and his wife Catherine, a musician.
Our five hour lunch brought back memories of the good old days when journalists regularly had two hour lunches dining with contacts.
