Day 3 - Shamu Rocks
So less rollercoasters today - and more learning about the environment :). Started off with the sharks, before heading to the Sea lion and Otter pirate show. Not quite sure how you train an otter...but we all got to practice our pirate voices, Arrrrrr.....
Next onto Manta-Ray rollercoaster. This was one of those "Superman" type "flying coaster" where you hang facing down, rather than sitting up. Very like "Air" at Alton Towers. Very short Q, just walked on! We pulled 4G on the first loop. Just as well I've lost so much weight that I didn't pass out.
Time for lunch - when the heavens opened. After sheltering a while, we headed to the dolphin show. Unfortunately, that got cancelled after a while. Something to do with not wanting the trainers struck by lightning? I'm sure that would have added to the spectacle!
So headed indoors for the Turtle show. This ended with a 3-D film inside a complete dome - like I-MAX, but completely immersive. After a cool view of life from a turtle's view, the movie ended with an inspirational song "you too can be an "Everyday Hero"!!!!". If only we didn't drop plastic bags in the ocean. Help, someone pass me the sick bucket :)
It was still chucking it down, so we nearly called it an early day, but as we were walking towards the exit, the rain stopped, and it wasn't long till "Shamu Rocks". Pretty cool...but again...pass the sick bag for the sentiments (complete with applauding our military folks who were made to stand)...
Caught the last "Pets Ahoy!" show. Not just trained dogs, but trained cats, rats and pigs. Quite how you train a cat, I don't know. I'm sure MP could have done ALL the dog parts herself.
