Self-Portrait Tuesday: batty

Since I was a little girl this has been my favourite reading position, I could lie upside-down like this for hours. My parents were bemused, and my friends used to wonder why the girl who spent all her time reading books was so good at sit-ups...

In the last place I lived the sofa was too close to the wall to get my legs over, but this new one is just perfect. Now I just need to get a bit faster at editing so I actually have time to read :)



PS: the book in the photo is Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond, I'd recommend it! It's all about the history of humans, and how factors like geographical location, climate, conflict and disease helped some civilisations to dominate over others. That sounds pretty boring, but believe me, it's not!

PPS: This is my Song of the Day, because until today I'd never seen this performance and it's one of my favourites. It stills gives me a shiver after all these years, nothing beats having someone take your breath away :)
