Emperor Moth

I do a little project with this gorgeous moth with my class every year. We look after their caterpillars, learn their food plants...and so on. Lots of excitement this week as we waited for one to emerge. Today, this beautiful male emerged. It's my day off, but I just had to take it in to school to show the children. Fingers crossed for a female overnight & some eggs. If not, this one will be released tomorrow morning. This moth is the only moth from the silk moth family in the UK.
