Kielder Forest

We had a lovely visit with friends in Northumberland.  A cooked a delicious meal and we had a good evening catching up as we hadn't seen them for quite a while.

We left after breakfast and came home by way of Kielder which is new to us.  It was pretty wet and muddy everywhere but this photo summed the place up for me today.  We'd love to go back when the weather improves to explore more.

Dropped down to Longtown and then onto the M6.  Unfortunately an accident was causing massive tailbacks in both directions. We came off at Penrith and went to Rheged for a late lunch.  From here home through the lakes and over Kirkstone Pass which was very misty and damp!
