Ladybirds

I tried unsuccessfully today to photograph a bee-fly, they're just too darned quick! Instead you have two of the very many ladybirds around at the moment. A day of lots of jobs today: going into town to get my haircut; dropping off two huge bags of items at the charity shop; doing the washing and hanging it out; doing some admin; and ironing the dried washing. I was also listening to the post office inquiry and watching the blue tit nest building on the tv. I feared the blue tits had been put off by the bee trying to take over the nest, but they reappeared this afternoon, both appearing in the box together at one point. She's now at feathering the bowl section and bringing in the scatter cushion feathers stage - so nearly there!

An ex-Managing Director of the Post Office and ex-Chief Exec of Royal Mail (then the parent company) gave evidence today and they were quite a contrast (operational vs strategic which potentially leaves a big gap in the middle). Again poor corporate and risk governance were evident. There were unclear responsibilities as each man assumed the other was overseeing key functions (Post Office was reliant on some functions being undertaken for them by teams sitting in Royal Mail). I haven't really heard (whilst I've been listening) any of the people asking questions ask about risk governance and management in any detail, which is strange.
