Gnarly Trees

We visited Padley Gorge in the Peak District today, a place we have been to on lots of occasions, and for lots of different reasons.

We walked on the side of the river (Burbage Brook) that I can't remember ever having done before, and I was struck by the trees and rocks.

I've tried to capture the gnarled appearance of the trees, in the main and extras. The second extra caught my eye as there was a millstone in the middle of the woods. I'm sure there is a story there, but we can just speculate.
