At last the orange tulip's flowers open
For some reason, probably the warmth of the sunshine meant that the orange tulip's flowers finally opened. I've admired and blipped these particular tulips a couple of times already but now I'm pleased to see them at their best, before they start to shrivel and proceed to form seeds.
They are in the same position outside the back door, and it is a sun trap so their petal respond very quickly to changes in light and temperature. I think they have been stunning throughout this part of their life cycle.
