Brox burn

2nd Saturday stroll day and the forecast was reasonable. Out by x27 bus to meet half the walking group on the bus, and the rest at the Almondell Country Park in East Calder. A heavy shower just as we found the starting point of the walk, causing a scramble for jackets and waterproof trousers from the optimists who'd packed rather than worn them.

Flat country walking on former railway, with views over the agricultural land round about. Some of the crops were well on. Good to talk to various people and catch up. Broxburn was roughly the half way point, and it was more convenient to get an x18 bus back from there, as some of us did, than complete the whole planned circular walk in one go.

Picked up a newspaper on the way North from Princes Street, in the tail of a squally shower, then watched another really heavy one go through; missed the hail which fell on the group that continued walking.

We all blipped streams @lovenature and  @AndrewDBurns made  different views of the Almond river ;  Almond ; the Brox burn isn't in such an impressive cutting, but still like all the water courses here running high and fast.
