Coming Together
Today was one of those days when everything seems well in the world, my world anyway, the news headlines make for pretty grim reading.
Coffee and toast to start the day, little bit of tidying up whilst glancing out of the window to see if the sun would fade and the rain return - but no, all good.
I headed down town, not that I really needed anything but to stretch the legs but as usual there things I didn’t know I needed.Kernow Kurls from Baker Toms, like Chelsea Buns but with saffron and baked darker, there’s never normally any left so it was two for Sam & two for me. Next stop ‘Flapjackery’, the new shop selling - Flapjacks. A selection of three before continuing through town.
Looking down one of the Ope’s I could see the heavy lift ship against County Wharf, a walk to the end of Custom House got me close enough for today’s photo.
“Happy Rover” arrived from Spain carrying the super yacht “Turquoise” to unload for a refit at Pendennis Shipyard, other visible cargo look like wind turbine masts. Fitted with two 400t cranes she is capable of lifting 800t in a tandem lift.
Then the icing on the cake, arriving at the bus stop to catch the Town Circular which drops me at the far end of our road I found that the new routes & timetables meant that the number 67 now goes up the hill to our road and drops me probably 20 yards from the front door, happy days.
It the little things you know.
