A little bit of history
I had a meeting with the Chambers of Commerce in Glasgow earlier today, and was fascinated by these documents on the wall.
Apparently they are they one of the oldest Chambers in the world, founded in 1783. The documents are charters from Queen Victoria (hand written in Latin), Edward 7th (hand written in English) and our current Queen (typed in English). That's an interesting progression in (in) formality over the years.
The view from the window was amazing too, a great view of George Sq and the City Chambers. I was also treated to a wee peek into the more formal meeting rooms, displaying gifts old and new from around the world.
