Up North
Stokesley is one of the furthest northern towns in North Yorkshire and has held a charter to hold fairs since 1223, as granted by Henry III. As a community it predates the Domesday Book of 1086.
The River Leven runs through the town and the packhorse bridge I have Blipped has an unknown date but records show it was in need of repair in 1632.
Most of the High Street is Georgian in style and the town boast at least 80 Grade II listed buildings. I might add their are a number of very nice tea rooms...
