Aquilegia
I spotted this sole aquilegia plant in the wild area at the back of the garden, completely surrounded by green alkanet, which seems to be spreading over most of the garden now, and not just the wild area as it did at first. It could therefore be described in the immortal words of fellow blipper Hanna4Home as a ‘thug’!
However, I do actually love it and so do bees, hoverflies and butterflies, so most of it will be allowed to stay for the time being. I don’t remember planting the aquilegia so maybe it’s self-seeded from somewhere else.
We had a lovely visit from our son and two granddaughters this afternoon, and a happy time was spent in Granny’s craft room. We decorated lolly sticks with cut out flowers and butterflies, embellished with diamonds and jewels. Unfortunately in the excitement I forgot to take a photo!
