Our Beautiful Neighbour
Invited round to Verena and Mário's this afternoon, for strawberries. She is an architect, and you can tell! White walls, ceiling and floors and everything so lovely and tasteful. As with any project here in the Alentejo, the delays and bureaucracy (and increasing costs) are driving them to distraction, but what they've accomplished so far is stunning, and the views are amazing. They are making two platforms for bell tents, with accompanying outdoor showers and kitchens - to rent out - would be a wonderful holiday.
Other than that, our usual Sunday routine, except that just waiting now for another couple (Dutch, I think) we met at Morango Bar, to take to Sem Fim with us.
Gratefuls:
- the Alentejo, utterly beautiful right now, after good rains, with the sunshine and all the wildflowers everywhere
- my roses, a peachy yellow one in front of me as I type, and the one you see in the photo I cut for Verena
- watching our eldest leading, so competently, the Livestream, from our English church this morning
