Halo Effect

Time for our annual Kris Barras Band fix. Bigger venues for this years tour means we find ourselves in Academy 2 Manchester tonight. Considerably more people here than last year at The Tivoli in Buckley!
The first support act were fairly dire. Called “The Nocturnal Affair” they hail from America and seem to think that swearing at the audience and playing incredibly loud would make up for their lack of talent. It didn’t. The second support were “South of Salem”. Heavier than I would normally listen to, but they sounded pretty good at what they did.
And so to the main event. This tour is to promote the new KBB album “Halo Effect” and we were treated to a few tracks from it. Definitely heavier than previous offerings, but I’ll reserve final judgement until I’ve had a chance to listen to the whole album a few times. Enough classic tracks though to keep the likes of me happy, and we rounded off the evening with a rousing singalong to “Hail Mary”.
Thanks to it being a Sunday we’d had an early start to the concert so it could be finished before the 10.30 curfew. Which means we should be home by midnight as long as the roads are as clear as they were on the way down. All in all, a pretty good day today.
