A Day Of Remembrance And Celebration

It was a good day to gather at FBC to offer our worship, praise and thanks to God for all He has blessed us with.  We opened our service with a congregational song which was followed by the welcome from Daniel.  After that, we were blessed to witness two baptisms.  The choir and orchestra and all our talented accompanists then presented an anthem affirming the permanence of our salvation, "New Name Written Down In Glory",  The congregation continued the praise and worship with a few more songs before Pastor Wes, once again turned our attention to Ephesians 1:3-8 , where he spoke to us about redemption and what it means to our relationship with God. We are all in need of redemption because we have all fallen short of the perfect lives God had planned for us.  But God loved us so much that He sent his one and only unique son to live the life we had failed to live, so that He could pay the price to redeem us.  Redemption reveals the cost of sin and that the price has been fully paid.  Redemption is real, is  here now, and it was very costly.  Pastor Wes had much more to say about all this which you can find in the Live-stream. It will be a good investment of your time.  To finish off the morning, we observed the Lord's Supper or Communion in which we are reminded of the terrible price Jesus paid on the cross for our sin.  The final blessing of the morning was the presentation of those who had completed the latest New Member class.  What a joyful way to finish our morning together!
