Probably the worst shot...

...I have ever posted.  @annejohn asked if I had spotted where the kites were building their nest, and finally I did spot it - about 15m high in a beech tree in a tight cluster of other beech trees.  This shot was taken at 500mm and then cropped to about a tenth of its size.

Can you spot the kite?  You can just see her head to the left of the main trunk and a few tail feathers to the right.  She is nestled down on her eggs, which is good because we had a huge hailstorm about 5 minutes after I took this shot and the wind is at least 50mph.

The leaves are just opening on the beech and in a few days time the nest will be completely invisible.
