Mmm . . . I had a think (not a very long or deep think) about the varieties of texture. We sense just by looking if a surface is soft or hard; smooth or rough. Some individuals have a sensitivity to the texture of food if it is slimy or grainy. Bakers discuss the various textures of cakes and breads. Sand may be dry and soft or wet and hard . . .
