Life in a Northern Town

It won’t be around long if this horrible squally weather continues.

As predicted, Sarah’s PIP assessment results are in - she has no issues whatsoever, she doesn’t qualify. I knew that would be the result because the assessor had absolutely no knowledge or experience of autism so she didn’t ask the right questions. She didn’t know the meaning of common terms associated with autism, and spent ages asking Sarah - who’s 26 - what exams she passed in school. How is what happened 10 years ago relevant to today - and to add further insult, when I intervened and explained that she had one to one support in school, that was not deemed relevant to her achievements. The exact same thing happened last time, I appealed and the decision was overturned. This time it’s an eight page appeal - it’s a farce. Grrr!
