A day in Italy
The weather was really miserable when we woke up this morning (see extra) so we decided to go through the Mont Blanc tunnel to Italy where the weather was better. As we arrived in Italy the sun was shining so, after coffee and cinnamon biscuits, we set out to see an extraordinary example of Roman water engineering dating back to 3 BC. It consisted of a single arch aqueduct bridge with a double passage way, the upper to carry water, the lower covered one for pedestrian use. An incredibly well preserved bridge. After a substantial lunch we meandered though pretty villages and made our way home
