Dam

Poor R, supposed to be her trip but floored with a full on tummy bug. She got up at 1 and was back in bed by 2.30, having consumed then exhumed pancakes :(
Meanwhile I took a wander through Vondelpark which wasn’t quite as spectacular as I’d hoped although the tree and lakes were full of birds. Met up with M and saw her halls of residence which were rather nice but also rather impersonal with limited areas to meet her other students. Really proud of how brave she is taking her third year to do this, alone in a foreign country learning tough European law. Breakfast of cinnamon rolls in Benji’s then into town for a wander round the Jordaan, bought myself a cute wee jacket and ate in our favourite SLA, the best veggie food. Lovely evening as we wandered through Dam square to the sounds of Amelie played on a piano in the middle of the square.
Headed back early with a carpet picnic for us and the invalid.
