Lunchtime..

As I was getting our lunch ready today (nothing fancy, just a tuna mayo sandwich) I caught sight of this beautiful sparrowhawk…sitting on the fence across the garden.

It was there for ages..I even had time to grab a camera from the lounge.

It was partially obscured by an overhanging branch…so I decided to go out of the back door …fully expecting it to take flight.

Fortunately it remained still and I walked to within about 5 meters before it left and I got several shots of it.

I didn’t see it with any prey..so I hope it hadn’t nabbed any of our garden birds!!

A lucky chance for a blip means I didn’t have to go out for a walk today….more rest for my back.
