Bad day for my poor dad. He has an upset tummy and couldn't get to the bathroom in time. He'a made a bit of a mess of the house, but it turns out the carers will change the bed sheets but they will not clean the floor or carpet. So poor Dad has had to live with the mess until I go over tomorrow. It makes me sad to think of those who are unable to look after themselves and have no relatives to clean up the mess for them. Who does it? Are they just left to live in complete mess?
Social worker called a few times. Dad has been made an urgent case and he will be offered three care homes to look at. This can't come soon enough for me. Dad is worse now than before he had his respite stay in the care home. He's so lonely and forgetful which has made him lose sight of getting up and walking again. The man who walked up two flights of stairs at the care home because he couldn't wait for them to fix the left, now can't walk 10 feet without fearing that he is going to fall.
I have to put my life on hold again until this care home is sorted. I can't even think of taking the kids away for the weekend in the holidays as no-one will be around to help Dad or help the carers help Dad.
