Emerging from behind Kawau Island
Woke with the sunrise, and was able to capture the emergence of the sun from behind Kawau Island.
Had a mid-morning walk (with some jogging) on the mudflats at low tide. Delighted to see a pair of spoonbills feeding in the shallows. They were hyperalert, and I could show no detail in the photos I took. The half dozen Kuaka (Bar-tailed godwits)I've seen in the last few days were again present. Still feeding almost frantically.
Heading back to Auckland this afternoon as daughter C has registered six of the younger generations as a team for Quiz night. S and I will sit quietly and observe, possibly answering the questions between ourself.
