Fire!

Today has been good day filled with lots of fun times and enjoyable conversations with friends.

After work I went to our final singing session of the term. This is always a very special evening as it takes place on an island. (A member of the group has an island in their back garden!) It is a magical place with woodland and amazing wildlife. It even has a Yurt so that if it rained we could all be under cover and comfortable. We had a BBQ and then we sat round the campfire singing songs and chatting. Later on someone brought out a guitar and we sang a mix of the classics including some old Beatles songs. We also sang some beautiful African songs which are my favourite. There was about forty of us there. It was great fun and lovely to sit outside surrounded by nature.

Nothing beats an open fire and the smell of wood smoke.
