War Horse...

This rather unusual memorial in the precincts of Canterbury cathedral commemorates the millions of horses killed during the first world war. It's an impressively large piece, the extra gives a better idea of scale, and whilst I accept the need for some recognition of this appalling waste of animal life, I found some of the online commentary surrounding the installation and dedication to be rather overblown - this is purely a personal reaction.
