La vida de Annie

Cosas dulces.

Strong wind and torrential rain today. I dropped husband off at Mahon town hall to sort out some bureaucratic nonsense, and drove on to the vet's for Loki's first kennel cough vaccination. The surgery is on a slope so the road outside was not just a puddle but a raging torrent. The dog jumped agilely from the car seat to the pavement without a splash, but the return trip was another matter; having to jump up onto the seat instead of down, he missed his target and fell on his back into 6" of muddy water. I had to stand in it to lift him up (he's 10 kg now and very gangly) and managed to drop his brand-new super-duper luminous 3-position lead into the water, having to chase it as it was swept away. Wet and disgruntled, we went to collect his master, who was similarly wet and cross, having been duped out of 200 euros for bills which should have gone out from the bank automatically, and which we dispute having to pay anyway. Shoulders shrugged, generic all-purpose complaint form handed over, goodbye. On a whim we decided to treat ourselves to the all-you-can-eat Binibuffet to cheer ourselves up - this is my selection of desserts as I scoffed the main before remembering to take a picture. Extra is his nibs with a shop dummy, taken to wind up the assistant who once told him off for taking a photo of some shoes to send me to ask if I liked them. (I did, and later that week went back and bought them as a father's day surprise from the dogs). We fully expected Loki to have destroyed the car after being left in it alone for the first time, but he was snoozing and had been good as gold, thank goodness.
