Full steam ahead
I knew there was a steam train due to be in Muir of Ord just before 6pm so we headed over and parked in the carpark. We were abit early so. Ike went to the Co op and came back with an Icelolly :) We waited and could hear the train coming , just a few minutes late. It changed tracks and came towards us. It had to wait here for another train to pass as the rest of the way is single track. We took a few photos and it stayed nice and dry :)
Feeling hungry we got takeaway scampi, chips and mushy pies from The Hub. We drove down to Beauly station hoping to see the train again but it was not a very good spot. Mike looked at the map and we found a good spot a little bit further on. We parked and had our dinner. The train to Wick had passed us on the way so we knew it would not be long before the steam train was on it’s way again. I could see the smoke as it left Beauly and we just made it to the little bridge to get this shot before getting covered in steam. A great experience.
A beauty evening so we went down to Redcastle to see the sunset :)
