Wine,Women & Song

Here's something I enjoy doing, really!

Is it just me, or does everybody enjoy mowing the lawn?

Not only does lawn mowing provide the pleasure of instant visible accomplishment in our modern-day virtual working worlds often completely devoid of it, but it provides physical exercise, and a prime opportunity for daydreaming, humming old songs, planning parties, analyzing movies, pondering free will, waxing nostalgic, or simply examining the meaning of life.

Having recently removed myself from the clutches of 5 acres of field grass that often involved several hours on a large tractor, I am thoroughly relishing the ease with which my present lawn cutting occurs. I now can have my small yard freshly cut in about 45 relaxing minutes, neatly falling within the limits of my dwindling attention span.

Even the loud, whirring sounds of a lawn mower have purpose. Behind that racket, you are all but unapproachable, and for a few carefree moments, you and your mower have entered a commitment to ignore the rest of the world.

You missed a spot.
