Keeping the home fires burning

Quite cold tonight as it's been overcast all day so plenty of logs have gone on the fire.

Made me think of the origin of the expression to 'keep the home fires burning'.

I'm reliably informed by Professor Wikipedia that it comes from 'Keep the Home-Fires Burning ('Till the Boys Come Home)', a British patriotic First World War song composed in 1914.
