Another concert ....

.... of a very different style.

After I blipped the Chamber music concert last weekend, a friend suggested we go to the Massed Band concert in Waterford.  She and her partner play in the Barrack Street Concert Band, who were part of the "mass".

So that's what we did.  We went early because S had warned us that parking was not easy - cheekily grabbed a space in the small church car park, and walked to a restaurant to eat an early dinner.

Sacred Heart Church is a modern, in the round, church, the modern stained glass windows were rather lovely.  It was full to capacity for the concert.  We were sitting to one side, I couldn't get a photo of the full massed band.

The concert is in aid of charity, and was designed to be inclusive - the words of songs were signed, and there was one song with special needs singers.  It was fun and noisy.  And I couldn't resist grabbing a photo of Mr Mayor looking at his phone while all around were concentrating on the performers!
