Middlesbrough and round about
After a fairly relaxed start to the day, dog walk and chores, we went exploring.
First to Yarm, which is where Callum has an appointment next week, so we could check out parking etc. It’s actually Yarm-on-Tees, a market town in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees. Everything seems to be shortened name-wise round here!
It was lovely, and busy so we just drove through.
Next stop was the Honda garage a few miles up the road, so we could register with them and get into their system for services etc when the time comes. That was clean, tidy, efficient, so no problem there.
Then, following my directions, we made our way back towards home, with a small diversion for the blip :-)
It’s been on the blip list since we arrived, and taking note of blipper Seadog50337’s advice we headed to the Port Clarence side for the best view of the Middlesbrough transporter bridge.
One extra, just faffed a little with a filter.
Iconic around these parts. Apparently the other side there is a visitor centre, so we will return at some point I’m sure.
It’s not been in operation due to safety issues since 2019, but been in existence for over 100 years, crossing the river Tees, and the bit that surprised me was the actual journey across the river only takes 90 seconds!! To be fair, it didn’t take very long to drive on the road the long way round either.
So there we are, a bit more of the jigsaw fallen into place now of the area round about.
