A Rainy Sunday With the Grands
Our first priority today was refilling the refrigerator. We shopped at two grocery stores. I sat down for a minute to say my prayers and woke up when it was time to go to Mancil’s photography exhibit. We invited my mother but she was having company. We visited with those who stopped at the winery until time to go watch Brooklyn play soccer. Her team lost 1-0, a heartbreak. It was chilly and raining; we sat in our car for most of the game. We went back to the winery, got smash burgers from the food truck and enjoyed the company of family and friends with a few glasses of wine. River insisted on being in my blip with his cousins. Mancil’s photos are on the wall behind them. It was hard to get a decent shot with the lighting and furniture arrangement. Today was Mancil and Brooklyn’s day so we celebrated them. Jamie invited us to dinner but we were simply too tired to go. We’ll just relax this evening. Millie is having more trouble walking for long distances. We almost made “the” appointment with the vet but she perked up again. My children got the word that their father has many brain tumors; not sure how much the radiation treatments can do. It was definitely a day of highs and lows. I hope your Sunday had only highs. Thanks for your visit, hearts and stars. I am slowly catching up with your journals. Hubby will be going to his music festival on Wednesday. It will be quiet here for a few days. “Grandchildren are a legacy we leave behind, a piece of us that will live on.” – Patricia H. Sprinkle
