Life in a small town

Weeds

This morning, on my way to work, I stopped to take a "Wales-like" photo, (complete with car-window as a frame) but when I drove home this afternoon, another sight caught my eye and it seems like the comparison Wales/Sauerland has to wait.

Giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) is a pest in these parts, and usually, actions are taken by the city to inhibit the spreading of these plants. But there it is, near our town's little stream Vollme: A whole field of these nasty weeds.
