Grey Heron
There were 6 heron today plus a young one (maybe Jekyll) who didn't come down from the dovecote. The little female (pictured), the adult male, the original young one and the male with the dark patch were the ones I recognised. They all got fed as did the coot who came onto the path again and a few crows. I ventured round and saw the nest. One of the adults was standing guard but I could not see the chicks as it is quite far out and they will be quite small being a few days old. They have certainly hatched going by the noise. The original young one followed me right round the loch. I will look again in a week.
