Famous Names

I was officiating at Bonsall High School, a small high school in rural San Diego with fewer than 500 students, when I recognized the name of the record holder for sit-ups and the mile. Carli Lloyd was the setter on the Olympic Bronze winning Women's National Volleyball team in 2016 following a stellar collegiate career at Cal State University in Berkley. I distinctively remember watching her and her teammates at the Rio Olympic Games. Who knew her home town as so close.
