Here comes the wash

I love the movement created by the wash from passing boats. A minute ago this water was smooth as glass. Then the ferry came along. It always surprises me to see how long it takes for the wash from a passing craft to reach the shore. When the wash finally reached the red boat, it looked for a moment as though it might capsize. It survived, but it took a long time for the surface of the water to become glass smooth again.
