Technically a day late but I only saw the news towards the end of my day yesterday. Matt Ryan, former Atlanta Falcons Quarterback, retired yesterday. His drafting back in 2008 was just as I was getting into the NFL. Jen even got me this jersey as my university graduation gift. He hadn’t even played a game yet. Looking back at it that was very lucky. It turns out not many QBs play for as long or as well as he did. We should have know seeing as his first pass went for a 63 yard touchdown. He also nearly won the Super Bowl but… yeh… damn Patriots and our leaky defence + playcalling messed that up.

Not sure the Falcons will have that QB stability for a while yet. But, the draft is later this week so we’ll see what happens there. I expect a defensive pick for our first round.
