Just grass

The grass at the front of the house was never a real lawn and now it has reverted to being a ‘grassy area’ which Gordon occasionally strims a little. I am delighted to find that we have dandelions . . . and insects. We are not aiming for a ‘wildlife garden’, just leaving it and seeing what appears.

For my record, and for anyone interested, in extras is my list for the Women’s Prize for Fiction Shortlist, which will be announced tomorrow morning. I have only read 9/16 so I cannot do a prediction list. This is just the six books from the ones I have read that I have enjoyed the most and think would be worthy of the shortlist.
