Provision of local buses.

It seems that our local council are interested in our views on the buses. They held a meeting to talk to interested parties in Sedbergh today. Trouble was that they didn’t seem to tell many people, and the guy running the meeting (although he said he wasn’t) then disappeared to go to another meeting after half an hour. It was also unclear what sort of meeting it was, some thought it was a drop in meeting, others thought it was an opportunity to discuss the type of service we want.
The outcome seemed to be that we wanted more than one bus a day. We are a reasonable sized town, about to increase when a new housing estate opens. We have no bus provision for anyone who has a job outside of the town who doesn’t have a car. Do I think anything we said will change anything …. I think you know the answer to that.
