Rose of the day

is 'Rambling Rector', a massive rambler which grows along the rose fence, up and over the arch and along the old hedge, and flowers more abundantly each year.

It was a bright warm day. I worked alongside my Texan helper who is doing great now after a bit of a slow start yesterday. It was interesting hearing about life in Texas, and we got a lot done.

I missed the light though, this evening has come in very soft and damp, and gray, though apparently we are promised a heatwave at the weekend.
