Kaybees Bits

Guess Where I Was.....

We went out for a short walk and some fresh-air.
It took nearly twice as long as normal to get there due to all the roadworks.

The first place we went was the RNLI gift shop. We didn't buy - but did leave a donation (SWMBOs father did the Dunbar stations books for years and they were a big part of his funeral).
The old lighthouse next door is beautifully weathered (I am sure its counterpart in North Queensferry isn't worn as much).
Before going home we popped into The Honeypot ... the 'hands on' craft and pottery place (it is amazing how many people don't come back for the stuff they have painted and paid for) for a drink and some cake. We sat outside in the sun looking out at the old barracks where my grandfather was based during the 1st World War .... he missed the troop train back one night and had to walk out along the rail bridge (in total darkness) and climb down so that he was there before morning roll call to avoid being marked AWOL.

In the pond, as well as the thousands of tadpoles there are hundreds of these things which I have never seen before. I am reliably informed that they are Water hog louse. (basically underwater wood louse)
